Wells Fargo Center Summary

The Wells Fargo Center is the biggest stadium in the city of Philadelphia. It is home to major leagues teams for hockey, basketball, lacrosse, and arena football. It originally opened in 1996 and replaced the old Spectrum arena, the former major venue in Philadelphia.

The stadium has gone through a view different name changes over the years. Well Fargo Center has been the name since 2010, when the Wells Fargo bank merged with Wachovia (who used to own the naming rights).

Location wise, the Wells Fargo Center is located on the south side of Philadelphia. It shares parking and nearby amenities with Lincoln Financial Field (NFL) and Citizens Bank Park (MLB)

The Wells Fargo Center is located in the industrial area of Packer Park. There is not a whole lot of selection for walkable hotels near the arena.

In fact, there are only two hotels near the Wells Fargo Center:

Restaurants Near Wells Fargo Center

The three stadiums in the area share parking lots between them. Nestled in between them is a single restaurants to grab a bite to eat before or after the game.

1100 Social serves up Mexican and Asian Fusion and is the number one spot to check out.

South of the stadium near the Marriott hotel is Bar Amis, a casual Italian spot to check out.

Fans heading from the stadium back to the Penrose Hotel (about 1.4 miles) will pass a few casual spots along the way on Packer Avenue to check out.

Best Attractions in Philadelphia

The main attractions near Wells Fargo Center are the NFL Football and MLB Baseball stadiums we mentioned above. All three share parking lots between them.
