Barclays Center Summary

Barclays Center is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Brooklyn, New York. The arena is home to the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL). The arena also hosts many concerts, conventions and other events. Barclays Center opened on September 21st, 2012. The Barclays Center contains a ton of amenities for fans to check out, including:

  • Multiple concession stands located throughout the arena that offer a wide variety of food and beverage items.
  • Brooklyn Nets merchandise can be found in the team shop located near the Geico Atrium. Nets and Islanders merchandise is also sold in front of the EmblemHealth Dean Entrance, EmblemHealth Atlantic Entrance and on the East side of the MetroPCS Upper Pavillion.
  • Billboard Lounge is an exclusive lounge designed to enhance your entertainment experience while at an event at Barclays Center. Benefits includes live performances throughout the year, 10% discount on all drinks purchased at the bar during the regular season, private bars, private restrooms and much more!
  • The Suite Level is home to Barclays Center’s premier restaurant and largest clubs. The 40/40 Club & Restaurant presented by American Express features upscale traditional American sports bar cuisine, done with a Brooklyn twist.
  • Loft, Brownstone and Party Suites available to enjoy the game just 26 rows from the arena floor, holding between 10-64 people.

Barclays Center Nearby Hotels To Stay At

There are two clusters of hotels near the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Located to the west along Atlantic Avenue is a number of hotels including the Hilton, Holiday Inn, and the EVEN. Located south in between 3rd and 4th avenue and Union Street is the Fairfield Inn, Gowanus Inn, and another Holiday Inn.

Both clusters are roughly equal distance to the Barclays Center, however the Union Street location is more central to other amenities and activities in the area.

  2. All food vendors inside of the Barclays Center are local New York City vendors.
  3. Though British banking chain Barclays bought the naming rights for 20 years at $200 million dollars, they have no US presence.
  4. The Barclays Center was not originally built for hockey, so over 1,500 seats have an obstructed view during Islander games.
  5. There are elevators installed in the venue to accommodate tour buses.
  6. Parking around the arena is discouraged and can cost upwards of $90 per event.
