Official Gillette Stadium Parking Lots

There are huge parking lots in the area surrounding Gillette Stadium. There are lots in the immediate area around the stadium and across Route 1 to the west.

With so much parking capacity on-site, fans rarely need to look elsewhere for a place to leave their vehicle.

Main Parking Lots

Believe it or not, parking in the main lots across Route 1 from Gillette Stadium is free for ticket holders on the day of Patriots games. As long as you have a ticket for the game, you’ll be able to park in the lots that are shade blue on the map below for no charge.

The switch to free parking comes with elevated ticket prices to compensate, so there is a trade-off in the total amount you’ll spend to go to a game. However, it is convenient not to pay for parking when you arrive, and you’ll have a short walk into the stadium once you find a spot.

One particularly notable lot within the layout is Lot 55, designated in the map above with gray and white stripes. To help the flow of traffic after games, this lot is only for vehicles willing to stay late after the game has ended. Vehicles that choose to park in this area won’t be allowed to leave until 75-minutes after the game. In exchange for your patience, you’ll receive a $50 Visa gift card.

So, you will not only park for free but also be compensated for your time if you choose to wait in the delayed-release lot.

It’s important to note that the free parking offer applies to Patriots games and not to concerts. If you are attending a concert, you’ll need to check parking prices for that event and purchase a spot as the date draws closer. The New England Revolution of Major League Soccer also play at Gillette Stadium, and parking is free for those games, as well.

EV Parking at Gillette Stadium

There are a couple of electric vehicle charging stations on the property of Gillette Stadium. However, these chargers are on the stadium side of Route 1, and not available for those parking in the free lots on the opposite side of the highway.

To avoid any issues, make it a point to charge your EV before your trip to Gillette Stadium so you can relax and enjoy the event.

Accessible Parking Spaces

ADA spaces are included in the parking layout on the stadium side of Route 1 for Patriots games. If you have a valid ADA placard, you can enter at lane P7 off of Route 1. As long as space is still available, you’ll be able to get an accessible spot on the day of the game, but there will be a charge associated with this parking.

Third-Party Parking Options at Gillette Stadium

Using third-party apps like SpotHero to reserve parking near big events is often a great option, and it works for countless nationwide venues. It’s not a viable choice for Gillette Stadium, however, as there are no available lots to reserve within reasonable walking distance of this location.

You are free to browse through our third party parking widget for Gillette Stadium below and try to find something!

Free Parking at Gillette Stadium

As mentioned above, Gillette Stadium is unusual across the National Football League as it offers free parking for Patriots games in the official lots close to the stadium. As long as you already have a ticket to the game, you’ll need to head toward those lots on the west side of Route 1 to get a spot.

For concerts, it will be rather difficult to find free parking due to the suburban nature of the surrounding area. There aren’t many options nearby that will allow you to park for free on the day of an event, so paying for a spot or using alternative transportation should be your best bet.

Public Transportation to Gillette Stadium

Gillette Stadium is located around 30 miles from Boston. If you live in the city and don’t want to make that drive, public transportation can get you to a Patriots game and back conveniently. For that, there is an MBTA train that runs specifically for Patriots games, both from Boston and from Providence.

You can buy tickets in advance using the MBTA app; the roundtrip service will cost $20.

Ridesharing to Gillette Stadium

While ample parking is available at Gillette Stadium, you may wish to use a rideshare service to get to the area rather than driving. For that purpose, there is a dedicated pickup and drop-off spot that you can use with your Lyft or Uber driver. That spot is in Lot 15, which is at the south end of the property. It’s only a short walk from the stadium’s gates to Lot 15, so this is a convenient transportation option you may want to consider.

Gillette Stadium Parking Tips for a Great Outing

Everyone who attends big events has a horror story about a parking nightmare that caused them to miss the start of the game or concert. Or, if you got in on time, it might have taken you hours to leave after it was over.

Let’s review some basic parking tips to ensure that doesn’t happen to you at Gillette Stadium.

Arrive Early and Beat Traffic

It’s tempting to think traffic won’t be a problem at Gillette Stadium, since it is outside the city. In reality, Route 1 often becomes a mess the hours before an event, so you don’t want to run late. Plan your day to get to the stadium early and secure parking before it gets crazy.

Simply check to see when the gates will open, and you can arrive early to enjoy as much time inside the facility as possible.

Know What You Can Bring

Gillette Stadium has specific policies regarding what can and can’t come into the building like all other stadiums. Check these rules in advance so you don’t have to leave things in the car.

Remember Where You Parked!

There are tons of parking spaces available in the area around Gillette Stadium. With such a massive parking area to cover, you don’t want to be searching for your vehicle at the end of the day. Consider snapping a quick picture or your car’s location on your phone so you can get back to it easily.

Don’t Leave Things in Your Vehicle

With so many vehicles left unattended for hours, there is always the threat of criminal activity while an event is going on. To reduce the chances of theft, leave any valuable items at home, or at least tuck them away out of sight in your car or truck. And, of course, remember to lock up!

Look At a Map

This might sound a little old school in the age of GPS, but looking at the map of the area around the stadium before you leave can help you understand where you’ll be going and how everything is laid out.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Gillette Stadium offers various parking options and tips to ensure attendees’ smooth and convenient experiences. With ample parking lots available, including free options for ticket holders during Patriots games, visitors rarely need to look elsewhere.

Additionally, accessible parking spaces and electric vehicle charging stations are provided for the convenience of specific needs. Public transportation offers alternative transportation options, such as the MBTA train and rideshare services.

By following these Gillette Stadium parking tips, visitors can avoid parking frustrations and enjoy their time in New England

Frequently Asked Questions for Parking at Gillette Stadium (FAQs)

How much does parking cost at Gillette Stadium?

You’ll find varied parking prices depending on the event you will attend. Free parking is available for Patriots and Revolution games in the official lots, but concert parking will often cost between $40 and $60.

Is Official Gillette Stadium Parking or a Third-Party Lot the Better Option?

Official parking is the way to go when attending Gillette Stadium. There is very limited – or non-existent – third-party parking in the area. If you aren’t going to use official parking for some reason, alternative transportation will be your next best choice.

Can I leave my vehicle overnight at Gillette Stadium?

No, there is no overnight parking available. You must return to your vehicle and depart reasonably after the event ends.

Does Gillette Stadium offer bicycle parking?

Riding your bicycle to Gillette Stadium is not a good option due to the venue’s location. Route 1 is the primary access for the stadium, and that is a busy highway. You might be able to make your way to the stadium through a collection of smaller streets and backroads, but it would be a long journey. We recommend either using the official parking lots or using a method like a rideshare service to get to the stadium.

What alternative transportation options are available to Gillette Stadium?

Public transportation is somewhat limited in this part of Massachusetts, although there is a dedicated train that runs from Boston and Providence for Patriots games and for other special events. Rideshare services like Lyft and Uber are also good options.

How early are Gillette Stadium parking lots open?

The timing of parking lots opening up for vehicles to enter will depend on the event you are attending. For Patriots games and concerts, the lots typically open four hours before the official start time. For Revolution games, the MLS team that plays at this venue, lots typically open two hours before kickoff.
