Top Summer Songs of 2019

Jonas Brothers – Sucker

The Jonas Brothers returned with a bang in March with “Sucker”, their first release in over 5 years. The single immediately went viral, thanks in part to the music video which features a summer vibe and cameos from the three Jonas Brother wives. After debuting at #1, the song looks poised to stick around the top 10 for a while this summer, so get used to it. The Jonas Brothers have announced an upcoming album and summer tour plans.

Marshmello – Here With Me (Featuring CHVRCHES)

This Marshmello track featuring Lauren Mayberry, lead singer of CHVRCHES, has the potential to be a crossover genre hit similar “The Middle” with Zedd and Maren Morris last year. The infectious beat, chorus, and voice of Lauren will give this song a ton of ammo to make a run at the song of the summer title. CHVRCHES have announced a handful of (mostly) festival tour dates in 2019, while Marshmello hasn’t announced anything yet.

Ariana Grande – break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored

This song had some instant success when Ariana released her most recent album, thank u, next, at the start of the year. Ariana has dominated the charts for the better part of the last year and a half and this song has the head start for the best summer songs title of 2019. Ariana Grande fans can catch her on her massive Sweetener World Tour in 2019, which looks to be one of the top tours of the entire year.

Taylor Swift – Me!

Taylor Swift has returned with the lead single of her upcoming 7th album and it’s a bit of a departure from her darker sound on her last “Reputation” album. “Me!” is borderline too corny in some spots (at one point Taylor shouting “spelling is FUN!”), but the song is sure to dominate the charts throughout the summer.

Fans are eagerly waiting an official CD announcement from Taylor and we are hoping a new tour announcement is soon to follow after that.

Shawn

Mendes – If I Can’t Have You

Shawn Mendes has a busy 2019 planned, with live tour dates planned for most of the year. To go along with that, Shawn has released a new single, If I Can’t Have You. The summery love song should get a ton of pop airplay.

There is no word yet on if this song is the first release from an upcoming album or not (Shawn just released a self-titled album last year) but Shawn mentioned recently he’s recorded over 40 songs in preparation for and on his current tour. We’ll have to wait and see!

Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber – I Don’t Care

Ed Sheeran has had one of the busiest touring schedules of the past 2 years with his worldwide Divide tour. Justin Bieber has been the opposite, fairly quiet since cutting his tour short in 2017 due to mental health issues. With I Don’t Care, the duo hook up for an unmistakable summer banger.

Ed Sheeran is set to release a new album titled “No.6 Collaborations Project” in July which features a guest artist on every track and an album filled with more rap and R&B tones. No word on Bieber yet, but he has been seen in the studio lately and fans are beginning to speculate a new album may be on its way later in 2019.

The Chainsmokers – Call You Mine (Feat. Bebe Rexha)

The Chainsmokers have released a handful of singles in 2019 including collaborations with 5 Seconds of Summer, Ty Dolla Sign, and bulow, but it’s this track with Bebe Rexha which has the most summer feel to it.

The Chainsmokers head out on their largest concert tour to date in the fall and it would be a surprise if all of the recent singles don’t lead to a new album in time for that tour. They are bringing along 5 Seconds of Summer with them who also have a nice new single called “Easier” worth checking out.
