Houston Astros Overview
The Houston Astros are a professional Major League Baseball (MLB) team based in Houston. They compete in the American League West division. The Astros spent their first 51 seasons in the National League; however, a realignment in 2013 moved them to the American League.
The Houston Astros were founded as the Houston Colt .45s. They joined the MLB in 1962 as an expansion team. The team switched to the Astros name in 1965 when they moved over to the Astrodome stadium, the first-ever domed stadium in sports.
The team started seeing success in the 1980s, led by the “Killer B’s.” This was a nickname given to all players on the team whose last name ended with a B. This included Craig Biggio, Jeff Bagwell, Derek Bell, and Sean Berry.
Throughout their history, the Astros have won 2 World Series Championships. They have also won 4 American League Pennants, 1 National League Pennant, and over a dozen divisional titles. They are a much-decorated team due to being one of the few MLB baseball teams to play in both the AL and the NL.
With its success, the Astros have also dealt with their fair share of scrutiny. During the 2019-20 offseason, the team was investigated for a league-wide sign-stealing scandal. They were found to be using tactics that were stealing signs from other teams so that they knew what pitches were coming. The Astros won the World Series in 2017 while this was happening, so many sports fans have put an asterisk beside that win. Both the GM and Manager were suspended and eventually fired for their roles.
The Astros still have a dominant team with a core led by Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve, Jeremy Pena, and Yordan Alvarez.

How to Buy Cheap Houston Astros Tickets
Ticketmaster
Ticketmaster is the largest official ticket outlet in Canada and the United States for sports tickets. Teams in every league have partnered with Ticketmaster to safely and securely sell tickets to their games.
One nice thing about Ticketmaster is that they also have a large inventory of third-party verified tickets available from season ticket holders. Season ticket holders can post their tickets directly to Ticketmaster for a small fee, who turn around and sell them to fans.
The only downside to Astros Ticketmaster tickets is that the fees attached are high compared to StubHub or Gametime below. Comparing similar seats on each site to ensure you get the best deal on Astros tickets is a good idea.
StubHub
StubHub is our favorite third-party ticket marketplace. You can find many cheap tickets to an Astros game on StubHub. Most sports leagues have a third-party partnership with StubHub to sell and advertise game tickets. StubHub has the largest selection of event resale tickets, often pushing the cost below face value.
StubHub will show you if the ticket listed is a reasonable price compared to the average price and the location of the seat. Plus, their “FanProtect” policy means that your tickets are 100% guaranteed to be legit.
StubHub also has a rewards program to join and earn credits when you purchase tickets. Once you earn enough credits, you can apply these to your purchase and get tickets for even cheaper.
I highly recommend checking out Astros StubHub tickets for a good deal.
GameTime
One of the best tips for buying cheap Astros tickets is through Gametime. Gametime is known for last-minute ticket deals for every single professional sport. These tickets are 100% guaranteed through Gametime and are often the cheapest tickets you will find.
Gametime works with teams and venues to get blocks of unsold tickets, which they advertise as last-minute deals. With 162 games in an MLB season, there are plenty of chances for Gametime to get discount tickets. Gametime offers cheap prices and low fees by selling tickets that would otherwise go unsold.
If you wait until a few hours before the game starts, very cheap tickets will be available. They are delivered to your smartphone almost instantly and offer event cancellation protection.
Gametime is a top pick for finding the cheapest Houston Astros tickets.
How Much are Houston Astros Tickets?

Tips for Buying Houston Astros Tickets
Want more tips for buying cheap Astros tickets? Check out these other ideas to consider.
Compare Prices
When buying baseball tickets, make sure to compare prices from Ticketmaster, StubHub, and Gametime side-by-side. Prices can vary widely, so it’s important to do your research before making a purchase. You may be able to find the same seats at a much lower price on a different website.
Look For Promotions
The Astros often run promotions that offer discounted tickets for specific games or events. Keep an eye out for these promotions and take advantage of them when you can.
Some games will have special offers for a free t-shirt, bobblehead, or another accessory. These are special collector’s items that you get free for attending the game. Or, if you don’t care about these things, look for an alternative game with no offer because these are usually cheaper.
Buy Tickets for Mid-Week Games
Weekend games are often the most popular and most expensive. If you’re looking for cheap tickets, consider attending a mid-week game instead. These games tend to have lower attendance, so you can often find good seat deals.
Buy Tickets for Less Popular Teams
Certain games, like weekday afternoon games or games against less popular opponents, tend to have lower demand and lower prices. If you’re willing to attend one of these games, you can save a lot of money on tickets.
Consider Standing Room Only Tickets
If you don’t mind standing throughout the game, consider buying standing room only tickets. These tickets are often much cheaper than seated tickets and can still offer a great view of the action.
Following these tips, you can score cheap Houston Astros tickets and enjoy watching your favorite team play without breaking the bank. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just looking for a fun night out with friends, attending an Astros game is a great experience that shouldn’t cost a fortune.
Buy Tickets on the Day of the Game
Waiting until game day and purchasing tickets on Gametime will be the best way to get the cheapest tickets to a hockey game. When it gets closer to the game, sellers are more desperate to get any money for their tickets, which means they will list them lower than they usually would.
Take advantage of these sellers!
The biggest drawback is that you might not be able to wait. If you are travelling from out of town, you want to secure your tickets early. And if the game is sold out, there will be nothing on Gametime to purchase!
